About Us
We were confirmed townies, we completed our escape to the counrty 8 years ago, part of our new rural life was keeping chickens. Our first two hens Barbara and Margo arrived complete with their bright yellow hen house. We loved keeping our own hens and it was the start of a slippery slope.
We set up our own vegetable garden, and started running courses on smallholding and keeping hens. We have been running courses for over 2 years and after spending some time rehoming some wonderful ex battery hens at a local school and saw the effect the hens had on the students, we decided to start Hens for Hire.
